SARASOTA, FL – A 69-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman sitting outside at Lantern Inn & Suites had to go to the hospital after they were struck by a driver Monday.
My SunCoast said that around 3:30 p.m., the driver, a 63-year-old adult, had supposedly lost control of his car coming from the RaceTrac gas station and slammed into the establishment’s fence, crashed into the bar and concrete wall, and then four unoccupied vehicles.
The 59-year-old woman was seriously injured, while the 69-year-old sustained critical, life-threatening wounds.
Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the driver was unharmed. Troopers started an investigation and have not released other information at this time.
