1 dead, multiple left injured after head-on crash in Brooksville
HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A 44-year-old man died Wednesday morning following a wrong-way collision in Brooksville that left several other people injured, reports FOX 13 News.
The fatal wreck unfolded on the northbound side of Sgt. Lea Mills Boulevard, where a 32-year-old man from Groveland was driving in the opposing direction, according to investigators.
Preliminary details show the wrong-way driver’s Toyota Tacoma collided head-on with a Dodge Ram occupied by four people.
First responders pronounced a 44-year-old man deceased at the scene. Three other passengers from the Dodge Ram were transported to a local hospital for injuries considered non-life-threatening.
No information about the condition of the wrong-way driver has been provided.
An investigation remains ongoing, but officials say alcohol appears to have contributed to the crash.
