1 hospitalized after Opa-locka crash on Miami-Dade railroad tracks
MIAMI, FL – One person was hospitalized for serious injuries after a blue sedan overturned after colliding with another vehicle in Opa-locka on the Miami-Dade crossing railroad tracks.
As seen in a report from CBS News, this collision occurred along Northwest 125th Street and Northwest 32nd Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Monday.
Officials said the force of this wreck caused a train signal post to come tumbling down and that one of the automobiles caught on fire. In addition, one person was either pinned or entrapped. Fire crews extinguished the flames and first responders extricated the victim.
Initially, first responders said a train was involved in this wreck. However, it was later confirmed that the train was not involved in this motor vehicle accident.
Miami-Dade emergency crews airlifted the victim to hospital and have not indicated the person’s current condition.
