MIAMI LAKES, FL – A woman driving a white Hyundai sedan lost her life after striking a Toyota sedan head-on while driving south on SR-826 North Friday. 

This collision happened before 2:45 a.m. near Northwest 154th Street, NBC Miami reported. 

Upon arrival, first responders declared the Hyundai driver deceased at the scene and transported the Toyota motorist, a woman, via a medical helicopter to Ryder Trauma Center for treatment of serious wounds. 

At the time of reporting, officials shut down SR 826 North and redirected motorists to NW 154th Street.
