2 hospitalized after their truck submerged in Cape Coral lake
CAPE CORAL, FL – Two people were transported to an area hospital after their truck crashed into a lake along SW 9th Street Tuesday morning.
NBC-2 said the occupants of this unspecified truck, a driver and passenger, were able to escape their submerged vehicle before emergency responders arrived. They are recovering from their unspecified wounds at an area hospital and are expected to survive.
It is not immediately clear if impairment played a role in this collision. Police did, however, say that drugs/alcohol were the reasons behind why two other vehicles prior to this incident have crashed into the lake or canal.
No pending charges or citations were mentioned.
