2 hurt in crash caused by police chase in Miami
MIAMI, FL – Two people were sent to the hospital for their injuries after a police chase prompted a rollover collision around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
According to WSVN, police were trying to take 39-year-old James Bradley Exposito into custody, which happened in the area of U.S. 1 and Southwest 132nd Street.
Exposito then proceeded to purposefully crash into an officer’s vehicle and run over a detective. That’s when the chase began. Shortly after, he struck the back of a white Nissan, and the Nissan driver then collided with a black Tesla.
Exposito’s vehicle then rolled over before striking a utility pole and tree.
A pregnant woman and a 2-year-old child from the black Tesla sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Exposito was taken to Jackson South Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. A woman inside the white Nissan is also in stable condition but taken to Baptist Hospital.
Exposito has been charged with reckless driving and faces various drug charges.
