2 killed, 1 injured in Pembroke Pines plane crash
PEMBROKE PINES, FL – A 23-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man died, and a 25-year-old man died when a Cessna 172 plane took off and crashed Friday.
CBS News said officials are still trying to determine what exactly led to this fatal plane crash that happened at North Perry Airport. However, investigators said that upon immediately taking off, the plane had gone into “a very high angle of attack” then “crested the angle of the attack… did a nose down attitude… followed promptly by a left turn and impacted the ground between the runways.”
The 31-year-old man was identified as Felipe Becerra Cardenas of Pembroke Pines, and the 23-year-old woman was confirmed to be Shelby Thomas, 23, of Port Wentworth, Georgia.
The 25-year-old man – Jamal Hall of Decatur – is still in the hospital for unspecified injuries.
