2 lives claimed in two separate crashes in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Two people lost their lives in two separate crashes that were reported before 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a First Coast News report.
Jacksonville deputies were first dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at 1:53 a.m., which happened at the Lane Avenue and San Juan Avenue junction. A driver of a Mitsubishi had turned left in front of a Toyota Camry, leading them to collide. Emergency crews took the Toyota Camry motorist to a hospital, where they are expected to survive, while the Mitsubishi driver was declared dead at the scene.
The second crash was reported at 1:56 a.m. on the 4800 block of Kernan Boulevard South. There, the driver of a four-door — an unidentified man in his 40s — had crashed into a pole. First responders and fire crews took him to an area hospital, where he died from his wounds.
