2-pickup truck crash on I-75 in Riverview claims 4 lives
RIVERVIEW, FL – Three people succumbed to their injuries Wednesday, and then another person died from his wounds Thursday after an I-75 collision Wednesday.
Bay News 9 said the crash occurred after 3 p.m. north of the Selmon Expressway. Florida Highway Patrol told the source that the driver of a pickup truck attempted to switch lanes and collided with another pickup truck.
The impact of the collision led the second truck to come to rest in an emergency lane, while the first truck had traveled across the median and rolled over.
No one from the second truck was injured. It is unclear if they wore seatbelts. However, the driver of the first truck, a 36-year-old adult, and two passengers — a 12-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman — all succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. The additional passenger from the second vehicle — a 14-year-old boy — passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28th.
No one from the second truck wore seatbelts, which could have played a significant part in why they suffered fatal wounds.
