2 toddlers hurt, woman killed in Fort Myers hit-and-run crash
FORT MYERS, FL – A hit-and-run crash on Delta Street claimed a woman’s life on Friday, March 31st.
According to Wink News, a driver of a white van was blocking the road. A family asked the driver to move his vehicle. The driver got inside his automobile to back up and hit 24-year-old Dina Cartagena and Cartagena’s four-year-old daughter and a one-year-old toddler in the process.
The impact caused Cartagena, and the toddler she held, and the four-year-old girl to be pinned against the wall of the house. In addition, she lost her leg.
The driver immediately fled the scene.
The infant and the child were seriously injured and appeared to be recovering. Unfortunately, Cartagena succumbed to fatal injuries.
At the time of this post, the driver has not been found. Updates will be posted when more information comes to light.
