4-vehicle crash on U.S. 41 in Tampa hurts 2, kills 1
TAMPA, FL – A left turn attempt and speeding contributed to a four-vehicle crash that injured two people and left one dead Tuesday.
The collision took place north of South 16th Avenue on U.S. 41, WFLA reported. One driver was heading east on South 16th Avenue and wanted to turn left. This person tried to make it but hit the two cars traveling at a high rate on southbound U.S. 41.
The force of this crash prompted the eastbound car to split in half. The front half flipped over on the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 while the rear half came onto the northbound lanes.
One of the vehicles then rotated and collided with a trailer.
The driver of the car that split in half, a 26-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries, while two other occupants sustained unspecified injuries.
