5 hospitalized after pileup on on SR-836 near MIA
MIAMI, FL – Five people were hospitalized late Wednesday night after a seven-vehicle, chain-reaction crash near Miami International Airport erupted in flames.
WSVN said the pileup happened in the highway’s eastbound lanes near NW 42nd Street at about 11:40 p.m. The collision ultimately involved five passenger vehicles and two motorcycles, one of which caught fire.
Miami fire crews extinguished the flames shortly after arrival.
Emergency responders rushed four people to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. A fifth victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with less serious injuries.
