7-vehicle wreck in Sarasota claims lives of boy, woman
SARASOTA, FL – A 7-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were killed in a seven-vehicle collision on U.S. 301 North near Tallevast Road Friday.
ABC Action News said that a preliminary report indicated that a driver of a car had struck the back of another vehicle.
The second vehicle drifted into a right turn lane and collided with another car before rolling over and striking another car, resulting in a chain reaction crash with seven vehicles, resulting in some damage.
The woman and 7-year-old boy from the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
A driver of the first vehicle — a 25-year-old man from Sarasota — suffered serious injuries, while three others sustained unspecified wounds. The conditions of these individuals have not yet been disclosed.
