The Orlando Sentinel has asserted that newly released Orange Circuit Court documents indicate that Universal Volcano Bay water slide accidents have prompted 73 injury claims involving several slides since the water park opened just three years ago. The insurance company argues that it shouldn’t owe money for injuries and has filed a federal lawsuit against both the water slide designer and the amusement park itself in an attempt to avoid any potential liability. This follows at least nine people opening lawsuits against Universal, including a tourist who was paralyzed on a water slide and a South Florida man who had to have a penile implant after suffering a pelvis injury.
