10 hurt, 1 dead after Fort Meade semi-truck, bus head-on crash
FORT MEADE, FL – One was left dead, and ten people were hospitalized after a crash between a migrant worker bus and a semi-truck Monday.
The collision happened around 6 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 98 along Adams Road, according to ABC Action News.
For reasons unclear, the bus driver was traveling on the westbound lanes and drove into the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with a tanker truck.
There were a total of 38 people on the bus. Nine occupants were transported to different area hospitals for unspecified injuries, while one succumbed to fatal injuries.
The semi-truck driver was also sent to a hospital for treatment.
