2-car crash with police car reported in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A two-car crash prompted a police cruiser to collide with a pole Monday.
The collision took place at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Century 21 Drive, News 4 Jax reported.
The police officer was operating the marked Taurus on westbound Atlantic Boulevard while a driver of a Toyota Corolla traveled north on Century 21 Drive. Then for reasons unclear, both drivers collided.
The Corolla stayed at the intersection, and the cruiser hit the traffic light pole.
Both were sent to the hospital, but their injuries were not specified.
The road closed for several hours and reopened around 1:30 p.m.
It is unclear who was at fault for the collision.
