Orlando hit-and-run crash prompted after driver runs red light
ORLANDO, FL – A driver of a white sedan struck an SUV and fled the scene after the SUV driver ran a red light and made a left turn on Sunday.
This collision happened around 11 a.m. at the State Road 408 and Chickasaw Trail intersection, according to WESH. The force of this crash caused the SUV to hit a guardrail before the vehicle rolled over and caught on fire.
The SUV driver, who was only identified as a 71-year-old woman, was trapped inside the car. Fortunately, she escaped, thanks to aid from eyewitnesses. She was last listed in critical condition.
Florida Highway Patrol said the sedan sustained damage to the front headlight on the left side.
