3 seriously hurt in Estero wreck caused by drunk driver
ESTERO, FL – Three people suffered serious injuries after a driver suspected of driving under the influence rear-ended their SUV on I-75 Friday.
This wreck occurred at mile marker 120 before 1:30 a.m. Lee County deputies said the driver, who was allegedly impaired – Dwayne Medina – had hit the red Hyundai in an outside lane, NBC-2 reported.
The Hyundai had drifted off the road and overturned several times. Medina’s white car had landed in a ditch.
The three Hyundai occupants were either pinned or entrapped and were then airlifted to Gulf Coast Medical Center. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
It is unclear if Medina was hurt, but he was arrested for DUI.
Updates will be posted when they become available.
