Carjacking attempt turns fatal after driver crashes into tree
MIAMI, FL – A man died after he tried to steal another car and failed, fled the scene, and crashed into a tree and two other vehicles Sunday.
The carjacking incident happened around 6 p.m. at a Chevron gas station, NBC-2 reported. The man got into a tiff with the woman he tried to steal the car from and threw an unspecified item at her. After hitting her with such a device, he fled the scene, trying to drive away from Miami-Dade Police, who were after him.
When police surrendered their chase, the man still drove away and collided with a tree and two other vehicles. The unidentified man was trapped as a result and had to be extricated. He was sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.
