2 lives claimed in crash with motorcycles car in Clearwater
CLEARWATER, FL – Two motorcycle occupants were killed in a collision between their motorcycles and a Hyundai Sonata around 3 p.m. Sunday.
Bay News 9 said that one motorcycle operator was speeding on the Campbell Causeway, causing him to rear-end the Sonata traveling in the middle lane at the speed limit. The force of the collision sent the Hyundai into the curb lane and then struck another motorcycle.
One motorcycle occupant, a 51-year-old man from Tampa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man from Valerico, was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, where he later died. It is not immediately clear which motorcyclist rear-ended the Sonata.
The Sonata driver, an unidentified woman, was unharmed.
