Cyclist, 51, fatally struck by SUV on Broadway Ave. in Bartow

BARTOW, FL – First responders in the Bartow area were called to the scene of a fatal crash involving a bicyclist early Wednesday, according to WTSP.

Troopers with FHP say the cyclist was riding on North Broadway Avenue at about 6:20 a.m. when she was hit by a Chevrolet Trax as the driver made the left turn onto SR-60.

The rider, an unidentified 51-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The 65-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was not injured. Any potential for charges or citations in connection to the fatal crash is unknown at this time.
