Man uninjured in New Port Richey hit-and-run crash
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A Nissan Altima driver was unharmed when he was struck by a Ford Escape motorist who ran a red light and later fled the scene Sunday.
ABC Action News confirmed this collision occurred before 12:30 p.m. at De Cubellis Road & Ridge Road. After the hit-and-run driver struck the Nissan, he declined to negotiate a curve. As a result, the suspect’s vehicle rolled over many times, and both cars eventually stopped.
The suspect, who was said to have a cast on his left arm and a cobra tattoo on his right leg, got out of his damaged car and ran away from the crash site.
Troopers have yet to find the suspect. Anyone with information on his whereabouts or who can describe more details about Sunday’s wreck is advised to contact Florida Highway Patrol at the phone number listed in the initial source.
