Man critically hurt, woman killed in rollover crash near Lehigh Acres
NEAR LEHIGH ACRES, FL – A 37-year-old man was left in critical condition, and a 26-year-old woman died after a sedan rollover wreck Wednesday.
For reasons unclear, the driver of the sedan lost control of his or her vehicle before drifting into a grassy area, forcing the car to overturn and land on its roof, and ejecting the woman, NBC-2 reported.
Both occupants were not properly restrained. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man is still recovering at a local hospital.
Florida Highway Patrol did not confirm whether it was the man or woman who was the driver, and have not revealed if speed, impairment, distracted driving, or a medical episode played a role in this collision. These details will be included in an updated post when they become known.
