Boy, 15, loses life in Sunset pursuit-crash
SUNSET, FL – A 15-year-old boy had died after his Audi car overturned after crashing into a concrete pillar amid a police pursuit on Wednesday.
This collision was reported around 3 a.m. in the area of SW 56th Street and SW 117th Avenue, under the Florida’s Turnpike overpass, according to a Local 10 report.
It appears the police were after this unidentified boy because they were dispatched to deal with a suspicious vehicle. The boy had matched the description of the automobile. And when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, he fled and thus began the pursuit. Still, the details of this call and the reasoning behind why the boy drove away remain unclear.
The boy succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene, and first responders took the passenger with him — a 14-year-old girl — to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
