Driver fatally hits woman near Al Lopez Park in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A woman succumbed to fatal injuries after she was struck by a vehicle west of AL Lopez Park Saturday, Tampa Police confirmed.

Police said they responded to the scene — the area of West Hillsborough Avenue and North Church Avenue — before 8:30 a.m. First responders conducted CPR measures on this unidentified woman.

Despite best efforts on their end, she died from her injuries at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene, and no charges were listed as pending.

Officials shut down the area temporarily. They launched an investigation and have not disclosed other information, including the woman’s name and identity, at this time.
