Update: Teen girl involved in fatal pursuit-chase dies
MIAMI, FL – Miami-Dade Police confirmed that the 14-year-old girl who was critically injured in a police pursuit-turned crash last Wednesday, Nov. 8th, has since died.
According to the Miami-Herald, the events leading up to this crash began at 2 a.m., when police were dispatched to a call concerning a “suspicious vehicle,” which was an Audi. The Audi driver — a 15-year-old boy — was seen traveling at a high rate on Miller Drive near SW 123rd Avenue. Police speculated that he had stolen this car, belonging to his mother.
Miami-Dade officers said they were able to catch up to the teen driver, who had then crashed into a concrete pillar. The 15-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene.
The 14-year-old girl, who was an Audi passenger, was hospitalized and taken off life-support, leading her to die from her wounds on Friday, Nov. 10th.
