Hit-and-run driver fatally hits 6-year-old child in St. Augustine
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – A six-year-old child died after getting struck by the driver of an unspecified vehicle, who then fled the scene Monday.
This collision was reported after 6:15 p.m. Monday near the North Volusia Street and West King Street junction, according to First Coast News. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the child was hit in front of a home and then took the kid (whose gender and identity were not specified) to UF Health St. Johns, where they succumbed to fatal wounds.
Officials started an investigation but have not provided a description of the suspect or their vehicle or released more information at this time.
