4 hurt, 1 year-old killed in rollover wreck in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Two children and two adults suffered injuries, and a 1-year-old toddler was killed when their SUV rammed into a guardrail and palm trees, leading it to roll over.
This single-vehicle collision happened after 12:30 a.m. Sunday on I-295 North, south of Merrill Road, according to First Coast News.
Florida Highway Patrol did not confirm the events leading up to this wreck, but they did say the 1-year-old toddler, driver, a 34-year-old man from Callahan, and passenger — a 27-year-old woman also of Callahan — did not wear their seatbelts. As a result, the 1-year-old passed away, and the man and woman were seriously wounded.
The other children — a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old — appeared to have been properly restrained, only sustaining minor injuries.
