3-vehicle crash in Jacksonville’s Holly Ford claims life, injures 2

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 19-year-old man suffered fatal injuries, and a 66-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were injured after a three-vehicle crash in the Holly Ford area Friday. 

This collision happened before noon along the I-95 and Zoo Parkway intersection, according to News 4 Jax. 

Florida Highway Patrol said the 19-year-old man was operating a pickup truck on State Road 102 West, and a 66-year-old man driving an SUV was going east on SR 102. For reasons unclear, the pickup truck motorist went into the same lane that the SUV driver was in, leading the 19-year-old man to hit the front of the SUV. 

Shortly after, the 30-year-old woman, driving a sedan, went into the eastbound lanes and struck the pickup truck. 

The 30-year-old woman and 66-year-old man sustained serious wounds. It is unclear if first responders took them to a hospital and what their current condition is. 

Emergency crews rushed the 19-year-old man to a hospital, where he later died. 

Authorities have launched an investigation. They are still working to learn more about the events leading up to the crash. However, they did confirm that the 19-year-old man was not properly restrained, while the 66-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman wore their seatbelts.
