Male pedestrian, 60, fatally hit by school bus in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 60-year-old man died after being hit by a school bus in the 2400 block of southbound Mayport Road Friday.
First Coast News reported at around 7:00 a.m. that the events of this collision unfolded when the school bus driver unintentionally struck the man, who was crossing the road outside of any available crosswalk.
The driver was said to have not seen the male pedestrian, which resulted in the collision. First responders rushed the man to a hospital, where he later died.
It is not immediately clear whether the driver will be charged or cited.
