Woman killed, man injured in Tarpon Springs car-motorcycle crash
TARPON SPRINGS, FL – A 20-year-old man operating a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle was seriously hurt, and his passenger, a 21-year-old woman, died after he collided with an SUV Friday.
This collision occurred before 8 p.m. in the 39000 block of U.S. Highway 19 along AL Anderson Park overlooking Lake Tarpon, ABC Action News revealed.
The 20-year-old man, who was identified as Jaden Jackson from Holiday, was transported via medical helicopter to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment. Jackson’s passenger, 21-year-old Alina Faillios Chavez, also a Holiday resident, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
While very little information about this crash was made available, officials suspected that the driver of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox caused the collision. The motorist was identified as 30-year-old Kayliegh McLiesh.
McLiesh and the passengers with her were unharmed. It is not immediately clear if she will face charges or citations.
