Man, 40, loses life after 2-vehicle crash at Kissimmee junction
KISSIMMEE, FL – A 40-year-old man driving a Hyundai Sonata died after he made a turn at an intersection and was hit by a motorist of a Honda Civic Monday.
This collision happened before 5:30 a.m. The Osceola News-Gazette said the 40-year-old had turned from westbound Orange Blossom Trail onto Ham Brown Road when he collided with the Honda.
The impact of that crash led the Honda driver — a 33-year-old man from Brandon — to then hit a concrete utility pole.
First responders took both men to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. There, the 40-year-old man succumbed to fatal injuries, and the 33-year-old man received treatment for serious injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol has launched an investigation and has not confirmed many details about this collision. Although, they did say that the 33-year-old man wore a seatbelt. He is listed in serious condition.
Troopers shut down the intersection for several hours and reopened it around 11 a.m.
