Motorcyclist dies after colliding with median in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 35-year-old man riding a Harley Davidson lost his life after he crashed into a concrete raised median around 5 a.m. Thursday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office told News 4 Jax that prior to the collision, traffic was slowing and then stopped on eastbound Pritchard Road. After traffic resumed at the green lights, the motorcyclist had supposedly traveled at a high rate, turning left, leading him to lose control of his bike and thus strike the median.
The motorcyclist did not wear a helmet and was thrown from his vehicle.
JSO said this information was recounted by eyewitnesses. They are still investigating additional events and details behind this collision and have not been able to provide more commentary at this time.
