Driver, dog self-extricated from van after Cape Coral crash with semi
CAPE CORAL, FL – A van driver and one dog were able to free themselves from their van after they got trapped inside after colliding with a semi-truck Thursday.
NBC-2 said this collision happened before 5:45 a.m. at the Pine Island Road and Chiquita Boulevard South intersection. After arriving, officials closed the east and westbound directions on Pine Island Road for their investigation and to render aid.
Fire crews did have to extricate another dog who was trapped under a passenger seat.
It appears the white van sustained some significant damage. Despite the severity of this collision, it’s unclear if anyone was injured.
