Head-on wreck with CCSO vehicle in Ave Maria claims one life
AVE MARIA, FL – A woman operating a Toyota Rav 4 lost her life after she collided head-on with a Collier County Sheriff’s Office vehicle Thursday.
NBC-2 said this crash occurred on westbound Oil Well Road. Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the scene, said the officer was parked in an emergency lane when the woman drifted left and collided head-on with the stationary patrol car.
Troopers said the woman, who was identified as a 59-year-old adult from Ave Maria, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. It is unclear if the officer was hurt.
