Driver fatally hits motorcyclist while turning left in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A driver of a Toyota Prius tried to turn left on the 500th block of Cassat Avenue and hit a motorcycle, leading to the motorcyclist’s death Monday.
This crash happened at 5:30 p.m., according to First Coast News. After the two vehicles collided, the motorcyclist (who wore a helmet) fell off his bike and was taken to a hospital (via a Jacksonville Fire & Rescue ambulance),, where he passed away.
Additional information revealed that the Prius driver (who was also hospitalized) may have been speeding when they struck the motorcycle.
Police did not reveal the motorcyclist’s name, only indicating he was a man in his late 20s.
