1 critically hurt in double head-on pickup truck wreck in Sarasota

SARASOTA, FL – A pickup truck driver was left in critical condition after they collided head-on with another pickup truck Sunday, WTSP said.

This crash happened before 4 p.m. at the Fruitville Road and Vic Edwards Road intersection.

Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, who was critically hurt, had, for reasons unknown, swerved from the westbound lanes into the eastbound lanes, leading them to crash into the second pickup truck.

FHP closed the westbound and eastbound lanes at this intersection and has lifted those lane closures since.
