Update: Police ID shooting suspects who caused Miami rollover wreck
MIAMI, FL – Police have released the names of the man and woman who are suspects in a Palm Beach County shooting and responsible for causing a rollover crash Wednesday.
New details from NBC Miami indicated that police tried to pull over suspects at NE 10th Avenue and NE 79th Street. The woman, 31-year-old Ariane Rodriguez, and 34-year-old Jonathan Lozano were traveling in a white Audi Q5.
Rodriguez failed to stop and continued driving and ignored a stop sign and a red light before striking an unmarked police vehicle.
New information also indicated that prior to the rollover wreck, Rodriguez passed an eastbound vehicle on a 2-lane road, which caused them to abruptly brake in order to avoid collision.
Even after Rodriguez struck the unmarked vehicle, she declined to stop, and Lozano tried to escape the vehicle through the front passenger-side window.
Officers were able to apprehend Lozano despite his attempts to escape and took him into custody. Officers also arrested Rodriguez.
As it stands, Rodriguez will also face charges such as “evading police and driving with a suspended license” along with other “reckless driving charges.”
Lozano was also accused of resisting arrest.
More charges are expected.
