Woman, 18, dies when driver misses curve, hits tree in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A driver of a pickup truck missed a curve on Dunn Creek Road, causing them to collide with a tree, claiming an 18-year-old woman’s life Monday.

News4 Jax said this collision happened before 6:30 p.m., and the 18-year-old woman, a passenger, had succumbed to fatal wounds despite CPR given to her by her friends.

The other truck occupants may have sustained minor injuries but were not hospitalized.

Speed may have played a role in this crash.
