Update: Child passes away after crash along Miami drugstore
MIAMI, FL – The 7 year-old girl who was left in critical condition after getting hit by a red Nissan SUV, driven by a 92-year-old woman, last Monday has passed away on Friday, Sept. 6th.
The girl’s father reached out to CBS Miami and confirmed this news. To recap the collision happened before 4 p.m. along Navarro Pharmacy, located on Southwest 32nd Avenue and 22nd Street.
Upon arrival, first responders took the child to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she later passed away.
Additional information, certified by a Miami police officer, indicated that the 92-year-old woman had intended to put her car in park. However, instead of stepping on the brakes, she pressed the gas pedal, leading her to then sideswipe the girl and her mother walking outside the store.
The police department confirmed that the woman was cited for careless driving.
