1 sent to hospital after truck collisions near Miami Int. Airport
MIAMI, FL – One person was sent to a hospital following two truck collisions that happened near Miami International Airport Monday, WSVN reports.
Both crashes happened around 6 a.m. at the westbound SR 836 and Le Jeune Road intersection, the first collision being a box truck rollover crash.
The second incident was between a car and a semi-trailer, which led the truck to jackknife.
Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the driver from the first wreck was hospitalized for non-life-threatening wounds but did not say whether the occupants from the second collision had to go to a hospital.
FHP shut down three lanes so that crews could clear the scene so that first responders could render aid and accommodate the investigation period. Due to such closures, traffic was at a standstill, as could be seen heading toward 17th Avenue. Northwest 27th Avenue was closed but has reopened since.
At the time of the reporting, first responders lifted all lane closures except for one right lane.
