Woman in her 60s dies after solo crash with pole in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A woman in her 60s succumbed to fatal wounds after crashing her car into a concrete pole in the Oak Hill Park area Tuesday.
This collision happened around 1 p.m. in the 5300th block of Old Middleburg Road North, according to First Coast News. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office suspects the woman may have suffered a possible medical episode when she crossed oncoming traffic prior to the wreck.
Crews and officers shut down the Old Middleburg Road and 103rd Street junction in order to replace the damaged 60-foot concrete pole.
Following the collision, an ambulance rushed the woman to a hospital, where she died.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department also responded to the scene.
