Double jet ski crash in Clearwater Beach claims 1 life
CLEARWATER BEACH, FL – One person operating a jet ski was rushed to a local hospital, where they later died after colliding with another personal watercraft Sunday.
This collision happened after 5 p.m. near Sand Key, according to Bay News 9. After the boats collided, both operators were thrown into the water.
Despite the severity of this crash, the surviving captain managed to escape physical harm.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Clearwater Police Department all were summoned to the scene.
FWC is taking the lead on this investigation and has not released additional information at this time.
