Car rescue reported from Lehigh Acres canal after crash
LEHIGH ACRES, FL – Fire crews freed a person from a submerged vehicle inside a canal prior to sending them to a local hospital following a crash on Wednesday.
This collision happened before midnight along Williams Avenue, near Lee Boulevard and east of Homestead Road, according to NBC-2.
It took first responders a couple of hours before they were able to clear the scene at 2:30 p.m.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene but has not provided commentary regarding the exact cause of this crash.
