Alleged DUI crash in Bradenton leads to arrest, woman’s death
BRADENTON, FL – A 25-year-old man, who was suspected of impairment, ran a red light and hit another vehicle with his car, which claimed a woman’s life and ended in his arrest Saturday.
This collision took place before 10:45 p.m. hit the second vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox on the passenger side, while it was turning onto 43rd Street West from Cortez Road, according to ABC Action News.
First responders rushed the woman, 37-year-old Sara Holmes, a passenger from the Chevrolet, to a local trauma center where she passed away. The Chevrolet driver, a 36-year-old adult, sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
The 25-year-old man, identified as Cesar Navarrete, was arrested by Bradenton Police on the premise of an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license. They also conducted a DUI investigation and have reason to believe he was intoxicated.
Officials said the driver should face additional charges and have not commented on those.
