Authorities investigate potential DUI after injury crash at Cape Coral high school
LEE COUNTY, FL – A 55-year-old woman was arrested for suspected DUI following a crash Wednesday afternoon at Oasis High School in Cape Coral, reports WINK.
The incident took place on November 20 at around 2:00 p.m., while the woman was waiting in a pick-up line at the campus, located on Oasis Boulevard.
Although the suspect was arrested for DUI in 2023, the charges from that case had been dropped. According to the suspect and her attorney, she was not drunk on Wednesday but had just woken up and was tired when her car rear-ended another vehicle.
No children or anyone else was hurt in the crash, but Cape Coral police determined that the suspect was at fault. First responders transported the suspect to a local hospital for unspecified injuries.
An investigation remains underway, and DUI charges are pending.
