Boy, 3, on bike fatally hit by driver in Tampa’s Del Rio area
TAMPA, FL – A three-year-old boy riding a bicycle succumbed to fatal wounds after he was hit by a Toyota RAV4 making a turn in the Del Rio community Thursday.
My Sun Coast said this collision happened before 7 p.m. at the Pitch Pine Circle and North 56th Street intersection, which is along the Place One Condominiums.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, who responded to the scene, said the boy’s siblings and his mother were behind him when the crash unfolded. After the driver hit the toddler, the boy immediately passed away.
Deputies started an investigation and have not released additional details at this time except to confirm that the driver will not face any criminal charges.
