Carjackers jailed after crashing stolen vehicles in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, FL – Three males, a 17-year-old, 18-year-old, and 20-year-old, were sent to jail after they crashed two vehicles, which they carjacked prior on Sunday.
WINK News said the events unfolded around 5 a.m. when the suspects, carrying a gun, approached a woman and her daughter at a RacTrac gas station, forcing them to hand over the car. The other suspect had approached another woman around 5:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a Publix, where a woman named Brittany Ward was getting ready (putting on makeup) before her shift at the grocery store. Ward had lost sight of her keys for a moment, found them, and then gave them to the suspect, who drove away.
Ward immediately called 911 after the suspect left, and deputies were able to apprehend them and arrest them both.
The 18-year-old man was identified as Delvarious Robinson and the 20-year-old man as O’marion Florence, while the 17-year-old’s identity was not disclosed.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the process, and no injuries were reported.
