Crash with propane truck in Spring Hill sends deputy to hospital
SPRING HILL, FL – A Pinellas County deputy had to go to the hospital for a serious head injury after hitting a propane truck reversing from a driveway Tuesday.
This collision was reported around 5:30 a.m. in the 1500th block of Hudson Avenue, BayNews9 reveals. Right after the vehicles made contact, the Chevrolet Tahoe SUV got wedged underneath the AmeriGas propane truck, requiring Pasco County fire rescue personnel to extricate the deputy, identified as 32-year-old Dakota Dellechiaie.
Dellechiaie is recovering at Bayonet Point Hospital Trauma Center, while the truck driver was spared from physical harm.
Florida Highway Patrol, who was among the first responders, is taking the lead on this investigation and has not confirmed if Dellechiaie will be met with criminal charges or cited for his involvement in this collision.
