Cyclist dies after driver runs red light, causes crash in Naples
NAPLES, FL – A driver of a white Nissan sedan ran a red light on Collier Boulevard and hit a cyclist, leading the man to fall from his bike and suffer fatal wounds Wednesday.
This collision happened on the southbound lanes of Collier near a Walmart, NBC-2 reported. First responders rushed the cyclist — an unidentified 43-year-old man, a Naples resident — to a hospital, where he later died.
Florida Highway Patrol had partially closed the road to clear the scene and investigate the details of this collision. Troopers did not disclose pending charges or additional information regarding this fatal wreck.
